Blindd-Bling, or actually Blindd-bang

Blindado is the word for Bulletproof: So I went shopping this week for bulletproof cars with my boss. His apartment building was robbed by a crew of 20+ armed guys in 4 cars that got the event going by kidnapping one of the doormen at his house at 6:00am then using him to gain entry to the basement. Anyway, to make a long story short, he is looking at getting a bulletproof car so his wife feels it is safe enough to leave the house again.

The whole thing reminds me of a scene in Blood Diamond where Leonardo says...

Blind-bang...the one thing you know for sure, is that if you hear a metalic tap-tap-tap on your driver side window, it is already too late...that is, unless you have one of these

Armoured car level 3a. Stops everything up to a .45. The only way to fly...

Of course, if you roll down the window, or open the door, your car is no longer bullet-proof, so there are differing opinions as to whether the protection offered outweighs the attention attracted when people see you have a blindado car. You make the call...if your city looked liked this:

Would you drive in one of these with, or without, the added protection (and the 1000 lbs it adds to you car, essentially cutting it's useful life in half)?

Yes, that is a Kevlar convertable. As if you had to ask...

Wine: Anyway, I had a crap bottle of Portuguese red this week that was so shitty I couldn't even be bothered to pull the bottle out of recycling, but did buy a couple of nice Trapiches to run a taste test to publish to Steve Runner since he made a mistake correlating two bottle of two very different blends from their vineyards.

Running: Missed a run during the week due to travel but got in a 10km on Saturday and an 18km on Sunday, both at night, both slow, but I was happy I am basically up to half marathon distance in week 3 of my training program. I have some fast intervals planned for this coming week so that will hurt, but stay tuned for how long it takes for me to really feel like I am in shape, despite cranking out an 11 miler, I still feel sluggish and heavy on my feet.

More soon - prob Thursday. Cheers folks.
